Datuk Kamarudin ZakariaHead of Group Technical Solution  

Datuk Kamarudin Zakaria holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from Surrey University. He joined PETRONAS in 1984 and is a Fellow of IchemE. Apart from that, he attended SMDP at Wharton, USA and completed the Management Programme at IMD, Switzerland. He has served in senior managerial roles in PETRONAS Petrochemical Business, PETRONAS Penapisan (Melaka) Sdn Bhd and PETRONAS Penapisan (Terengganu) Sdn Bhd where he was appointed Vice President, Group Health Safety Environment, Operational Excellence

                                                                                                      

BP Singapore 

Claus J. Nehmzow, Digital Innovation Organisation APAC

Claus is responsible for the Asia-Pacific region in BP’s Digital Innovation Organisation (DIO), where he introduces emerging digital technologies to address business challenges faced by the oil and gas major. The DIO’s innovation capability is based on leveraging expertise from outside the oil and gas industry. 

Before joining BP’s Digital Innovation Organization, Claus founded and built a gaming online education business, "3D Avatar School", and held a number of leadership roles, including at brand and user experience agency Method, PA Consulting, Shazam Entertainment, Viant, Booz Allen Hamilton, and accenture.

Originally from Germany, Claus has worked and lived in Zurich, New York, Munich, London, Hong Kong and now lives in Singapore.

HPCL-Mittal Energy Limited

Martin Hawkins, COO

Martin Hawkins serves as Chief Operating Officer of HPCL-Mittal Energy Limited. Mr. Hawkins has responsibility for the operation of all of HMEL’s assets from the crude receipt at the SPM through production of products at the Bathinda Refinery. He has over 32 years of oil refining experience in operations, maintenance, process engineering, major projects, planning, and economic and price forecasting. His accomplishments include breakthroughs in safety, major projects, process improvements and optimization, and cost control. He has worked at six refineries and two corporate offices in the USA. Mr. Hawkins earned a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of Michigan and a Master in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.

Reliance Industries Ltd 

Gerard de Nazelle, Head of Technology

Dr. Gerard de Nazelle joined Reliance in September 2014, after four years in India as entrepreneur, running a (chemical) polyester recycling business and plant in Nashik (Polygenta Technologies). Before joining Polygenta he served as the first Director of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), to contribute to the improvement of Europe's innovation performances.

He joined Shell in 1990 and was Global Manager Innovation & Research, responsible for the development of new technology options and clean energy futures until he joined the EIT. In 1994, he moved to Japan, then to Singapore, where he participated in the construction and start-up of two large petrochemical projects (1996 - 2003). He held the position of Technology Manager of Shell Seraya (Singapore), before becoming Chief Technologist of the multi-billion CNOOC-Shell project in China (2004-2007). He holds a MSc degree (Chem.Eng) from ENSIC (France) and a PhD (Physics) from Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands).

Singapore Refining Company 

Selva Guru, Principal Engineer

PN SelvaGuru is a Chemical Engineer with Masters in Knowledge Engineering from National University of Singapore.

He has 25 years of experience in various refineries and petrochemical operations, especially in DCS, APC, RTO & Operational Intelligence applications.

He has implemented several Multi-Variable Predictive Control (MVPC) applications in various process units & also RTOs (Real-Time Optimization) in FCCUs.

Shell Jurong Island            

KT Khong, Head of Production

KT served as the Non-Executive Director in Ethylene Glycol Singapore (Pte Ltd) from Apr 2008 to Feb 2011. He also served in 2 public listed companies as Non-Independent Non-Executive Director at Shell Refining Company (Federation of Malaya) Berhad since Mar, 2011 to Sep 2014 and Pakistan Refinery Limited (Karachi, Pakistan) from Feb 2008 to 2010.

He has Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering and Master Degree in Material Science & Engineering both from National University Singapore. Prior to joining Shell, he worked in DuPont Singapore for 14 years, during which he performed various roles in technology, engineering and operations. Between 2004 and 2006, he has also performed a role in managing a joint venture operation between DuPont and Asahi Kasei in China as the Deputy General Manager. He is a qualified Six Sigma black belt and familiar with lean practices.

He is now the Head of Production for Shell Chemical Complexes in Jurong Island.

Binh Son Refining & Petrochemical       

Mai Tuan Dat, Production Manager

Mai Tuan Dat is a M.A in engineering, major in Electrical & Instrumentation technology, and engaged in Oil & Gas industry for more than 15 years in Dzung Quat Refinery - PetroVietnam. 

From 2000 to present, Mai Tuan Dat has experienced on working for all phases of the first refinery project in Vietnam. He was nominated to many difference positions from E&I engineer, supervisor of Dzung Quat Refinery PMT (Project Management Team), Maintenance Planning Manager, Standing Leader of Defect Liability Steering Committee, etc.

From 2010 to now, Mai Tuan Dat nominated to position of Maintenance Deputy Director in charge for all maintenance and reliability improvement of the Dzungquat Refinery. In April 2014, BSR recognized by various International Insurance Companies as well as some famous technology Licensors as an Excellence Operation in Refining and Petrochemical with over 630 days in continuously safe and efficient operation.

Chevron

Manoj Singh, Reliability Specialist

Manoj is currently based in Singapore, working as a Reliability Specialist for Chevron. His role is to provide Reliability linked technical support to Chevron’s Joint Venture refineries in the Asia Pacific.

He is a Mechanical engineering graduate with a Masters in Industrial Metallurgy from I.I.T. Delhi & Madras respectively. He has over 25 years of cumulative experience in the fields of Reliability, Maintenance, Engineering,  Project Management & Process Safety. He has previously worked for Reliance in India, Singapore Aromatics (an erstwhile Exxon/Amoco JV), Celanese Singapore , Huntsman & BP (the last two in Regional roles based in Singapore).

Saudi Aramco

Abdullah Al Dhafer, Operational Excellence Coordinator, Riyadh Refinery

An experienced employee with over twenty five years of experience in maintenance, mechanical, quality, maintenance and planning field. Holding Master of Business Administration degree in Performance Measurement with distinction from Strathclyde university and currently perusing a DBA at Grenoble Management School. Having served as scheduler, planner and planning supervisor, forman and compliance coordinator, worked with gas plant, producing, and mechanical shops and refining. Certified in constructing and analyzing planning & scheduling from marshal institute, USA. Certified as Lean Six sigma.  planning & scheduling professional, OE assessor and NLP certified.

Reliance       

Vishal Mehta, Head of Digital Strategy, Architecture and Technology

Vishal heads the Digital Strategy, Architecture and technology portfolio at Reliance Industries. His role is to transform traditional model into a digital business technology platform which is futuristic and leverages adoption of new generation technologies like Analytics, IoT, mobility, cloud etc.

Prior to Reliance, he worked at KBR, where he was the heading business for KBR Technology for Asia Pacific, Middle east, Africa, CIS and Russia region. He was esponsible for P&L. strategy, team building, global partnerships, sales and operations. He was also in charge of setting up the Digital Solutions, Automation and Process Technology business unit for KBR in India and also the global Chief Technology Advisor for large Operations Management Systems Projects.

Before getting into consulting he worked for the Energy business of Reliance Industries, in setting up the largest Oil refinery, Port and facilities in the world, Business management, MIS, Planning and Scheduling.

Petronas Penapisan Terengganu (PPTSB)                  

Sharul Rashid, Principal Engineer - Instrument and Control 

Sharul graduated with a Bachelor of Science from University of Miami, Coral Gables Florida in 1988 and then graduated in Master Engineering from University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida in 1990. He has been serving with PETRONAS, Malaysia for over 22 years in various Oil & Gas facilities – Transmission Operations Division, Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Plant and Refinery and Aromatics Plant. He is now Principal Engineer - Instrument & Control, leading an Instrumentation group for PETRONAS Refinery in the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

 

PTT Global Chemical Public Co. Ltd

Steven McMurray, Senior Technical Advisor

Steven A. McMurray is Senior Technical Advisor for PTT Global Chemical Public Company Ltd. He has been with PTT GC for 11 years advising in aromatics with an ever-expanding role into refining, olefins, downstream petrochemicals and recently Bio-based petrochemicals. Prior to joining PTTGC Steve worked for UOP LLC for 17 years on field operating services starting up and troubleshooting numerous grass roots facilities across the entire spectrum of technologies with a heavy background in CCR/Platforming, Aromatics production units and process controls. Steve holds a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University.

Rudy Radjab, President Director

Rudy Radjab has more than 35 years of experience in a wide spectrum of top managerial positions mostly in oil & gas-related fields. From 1993 to 1996 he was Project & Development Manager of the Engineering & Construction Division of PT. ELNUSA. In 1996 he was appointed as President Director of PT. ELNUSA PETROTEKNIK, and from 2001 until 2007 he held the position of President Director of PT. ELNUSA.

Apart from his active position as Board member of Yayasan Pertambangan Energi (YPE), he used to serve as President Director of PT. Banten Global Development, a State Company under Banten Province.  

Mr. Rudy Radjab holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from Bandung Institute of Technology and currently holds the position of President Director of PT Kreasindo Resources Indonesia, a holding company under Mining and Energy Foundation (YPE).

Dow Chemical

Rohaya Roslee, Manager, Talent Management (SEA)

Rohaya Roslee is the Manager, Talent Management (South East Asia) for Dow Chemical Pacific (Singapore) Pte Ltd. She is responsible for driving initiatives to enhance the capability and performance of employees and engaging the workforce to create a dynamic and inclusive workplace. She also oversees the implementation of global and local programs in South East Asia, influencing respective country leadership stakeholders to gain buy-in for these programs and providing guidance to the countries in the implementation. Prior to Dow, she was with Federal Express Pacific Inc. (FedEx), responsible for leadership development for Asia Pacific. Rohaya earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Building and Real Estate from National University of Singapore in 2001 and a Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from Southern Cross University in 2004.

PTT Global Chemical

Napoporn Ratanapoka, Refinery Technical Manager

Started in 1997, Napaporn worked as a process engineer for various process units until 2004 before moving up to becoming the Refinery Economist in Supply & Planning such as running LP and production planning for 1.5 years. From 2006 - 2008, she led the process engineer team to run its first major expansion project "Refinery Upgrading and Clean Fuel Project". 

Her current role is to lead, coach and develop process engineers to exploit benefit from new technology of catalyst and process improvement, aiming to reduce OPEX, maximise UEDC with low EII, increase refinery GRM and improve plant reliability. In addition, she provides support to the operation team on daily optimization and troubleshooting.
